November 3 A first look at Clearwire's 4G WiMax. Our guest was Rebecca Mecouri discussing a Post Mortem of the 2010 Election. For reporting election incidents, Rebecca suggests: Mayor Bloomberg encouraged NYC voters to tweet 2010 election day complaints using the hashtag #nycvotes, you can also call 311. NY State Comptroller Thomas DiNapoli set up a hotline number to report problems at 888-672-4555. The NY Board of Elections complaint number is 866-VOTE-NYC. The federal agency that handles election complaints is the Civil Rights Division of the Department of Justice at 800-253-3931. She warns that "there is no guarantee that these complaints (especially to the city, state and federal government) won't also go the way of the votes (i.e. sucked in without being recorded) but at least you do have the opportunity to vent (just like you have the opportunity to think you might have voted)." On the other hand she points out that the New York City elections board fired the Executive Director one week before Election Day (following massive complaints about the primary election), so complaints can matter.
